CALL TO ORDER
Township Clerk called the
meeting to order at 7:00 pm

“The provisions of the Open Public Meetings Act have been met.
Notice of this
meeting has been transmitted by email to the Courier Times, Burlington
County Times and The Trenton Times as well as given to those having
requested same and posted on the Township bulletin board located in the
foyer of the municipal building”.
OATH OF OFFICE FOR TOWNSHIP COMMITTEE MEMBERS ELECT:
Township Clerk called for Committeeman Elect Ronald DeBaecke to be sworn
into office. Mr. Mark
Roselli, Esquire administered the Oath of Office.
Everyone extended a round of applause.

CLERK CALLS FOR NOMINATIONS FOR MAYOR 2020
The Township Clerk called for nominations for Mayor 2020:

Motion for Ronald DeBaecke as Mayor passes.
Ronald DeBaecke came forward to be sworn in as Mayor for 2020.
Attorney Roselli administered the oath of office.

Christopher Doyle came forward to be sworn in as Deputy Mayor for 2020.

Mayor DeBaecke and Committeeman O’Donnell presented the following
Proclamation to Benjamin Palombi:
PROCLAMATION IN
RECOGNITION OF BENJAMIN pALOMBI, TOWNSHIP OF NORTH HANOVER JVFC FIRE
CHIEF
WHEREAS,
the Township Committee of the Township of North Hanover would like to
recognize Chief Benjamin Palombi for his honorable service to the
Township of North Hanover as Fireman, Assistant Chief, Deputy Chief and
Fire Chief, and
WHEREAS, Benjamin Palombi
has dedicated his life to public service, for over 34 years and has
resided in North Hanover Township for 18 years, and
WHEREAS, Benjamin Palombi
has demonstrated excellence in critical emergency response and began his
public service life as a Police Officer in 1985 with the Florence
Township Police Department, where he retired as a Police Sergeant, in
2010, and
WHEREAS,
Benjamin Palombi served as
Honorary Commander of the Joint Base McGuire, Dix, Lakehurst in 2016 and
2017; and
WHEREAS, Benjamin Palombi
began his fire service career in 2010, with the Jacobstown Volunteer
Fire Company, and quickly rose through the ranks as an Assistant Chief
(2012), Deputy Chief (2013) and Chief (2014), and
WHEREAS,
under Benjamin Palombi’s leadership, the JVFC
saw various building improvements, an Ambulance up fit, power
stretchers, new Fire Truck and a new Chief’s Truck, due to his fiscally
responsible management, and
WHEREAS, Benjamin Palombi
has provided excellent stewardship of his resources, leadership, abiding
love and compassion for our citizens and uncompromised devotion to duty,
and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and
Township Committee, of the Township of North Hanover, desires to express
their appreciation to Benjamin Palombi for his acts of selflessness and
for his many years of service as a fireman and fire chief for the
Township of North Hanover.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED
by Ronald I. DeBaecke Jr, Mayor of the Township of North Hanover, in the
County of Burlington, State of New Jersey, that the appreciation of the
Mayor and Township Committee of the Township of North Hanover are hereby
expressed.
BE IT FURTHER PROCLAIMED
that this Proclamation be duly embossed, signed by the Mayor, publicly
presented to Benjamin Palombi on January 2, 2020, and recorded in the
official records of the Township of North Hanover, as a tribute to
Benjamin Palombi by an appreciative and thankful Township Committee.
Everyone extended
a round of applause.
Committeeman DeLorenzo also expressed appreciation to the Chief’s wife,
Deborah Palombi.
NOMINATION AND APPOINTMENT OF TOWNSHIP ATTORNEY
Mayor DeBaecke called for nominations for Township Attorney:
MR. MARK ROSELLI, ESQUIRE
Mayor DeBaecke welcomed Attorney Roselli back after 19 years of service.

JACOBSTOWN VOLUNTEER FIRE COMPANY
Mayor DeBaecke called forward members of the Jacobstown Volunteer Fire
Company to be sworn in.
Attorney Roselli swore in various members of the JVFC.
Everyone extended a round of applause.
Mayor DeBaecke thanked the members and wished everyone good luck.
TOWNSHIP COMMITTEE COMMENT
Committeeman Kocubinski wished everyone a safe and happy new year.
He noted the last few years have been a pleasure to serve and
work with the current Township Committee.
He noted the difficulties opposing the forthcoming pipeline
installation. He thanked
Chief Palombi and all the volunteers and noted his sincere appreciation
for their service. He
states he is hopeful, regardless of party affiliation, for a successful
year.
Committeeman O’Donnell echoed Committeeman Kocubinski and noted Township
meetings are hardly ever partisan and in fact the record reflects that.
He is disappointed that there is disagreement over honorary
titles. Regardless, he will
continue to serve his constituents as he knows the rest of the Township
Committee will.
Committeeman DeLorenzo wished everyone a Happy and Healthy New Year.
He stated Committeeman O’Donnell did a great job as Deputy Mayor
the last two years. He
noted the Township Committee works as a group and accomplished a lot.
He was disappointed with the outcome of the pipeline.
Deputy Mayor Doyle wished everyone a Happy New Year.
He expressed appreciation of the Township Committee operating as
a team. He noted his utmost
respect for each Committee member.
He thanked Chief Palombi for a tremendous job and looks forward
to working with the new Chief.
He thanked all the volunteers in the Community and his wife for
his time away from his family. He also thanked Clerk Picariello for all
that she does and congratulated Mayor DeBaecke.
Mayor DeBaecke wished everyone a Happy and Healthy New year.
He thanked the voters for their trust and his fellow Committee
members for their support in his role as Mayor.
He expressed appreciation for the employees who help to make
North Hanover affordable.
